Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve heard of the recent water contamination crisis in Flint, MI. No matter your political understanding of the situation, the residents that are suffering throughout this crisis need all the support they can get. Despite the fact that the government is providing water rations to residents, many families are finding this to be inadequate for their daily needs. That’s why this past week, Commercial Freight Systems acted as a key partner in helping to deliver fresh water donations to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan in Flint, MI.
When the Women’s Forum at Continental Automotive Systems was trying to figure out how they could assist their fellow citizens in need, they realized that they couldn’t just throw multiple pallets of water in the back of their van and drop it off. That’s why they thought of CFS immediately as a key partner. Not only does CFS have the trucks to carry such a large load of water, but it’s a woman-led company, making it the perfect fit for this cause.
In total, 13 pallets of water were delivered to the food bank. That’s over 20,000 bottles of water! Even with such a generous donation, that’s just a drop in the bucket. To see how you can do your part and help out the residents of Flint, please visit the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan website.
